Solo Saturday

So my Saturdays normally involve a lie in, some housework and catching up on blogs and YouTube. This weekend is slightly different, as we are in the process of emptying our living room ready for decorating.

We've lived here for 6 years, and up to now we haven't really put our stamp on it. We had a brand new bathroom fitted last August, but apart from that our little house really needs some TLC.

My Pinterest is full of home inspiration (and lots of fashion and nail art!).

As I've been running around a bit I wanted to be comfortable, so I chose my Primark stained glass window trousers. I added a H&M speckled black jumper to. My sandals are from Topshop (I paid full price, but I think they've now gone into the sale).

I'm wearing my usual accessories, my Fashionology Cross Necklace and my ASOS silver watch.

So time to get back to work, It'll all be worth it in the end............

Tuesday's choices........

Today has been another work day, and yet another day where I wore a smock style dress. This style of dress has become my favourite and I'm beginning to build up quite a collection.

Today I wore a new edition, Motel Henrietta Swing Dress In Marble Print. I love the colour and fit. As the weather isn't as warm here today I opted to wear my Topshop jeggings and KASP Cross over shoes

Another fairly new edition is my Cross necklace from Fashionology. I love it and have been wearing it every day since it arrived.

My nail choice for today was Nails inc The Thames with Seventeen Graffiti Monochrome nail effects over the top.

First Post- A Dedication

For a few years now I've had plans to start my own blog. I love reading fashion and beauty blogs, and often feel inspired to start my own.

The issue has been motivation. That is until now............

I wanted to write my first post today following the funeral of someone I loved very much. A couple of weeks ago we lost my (not officially, but as close as) mother in law. It was very sudden and its been a massive shock.

I started going out with my partner Mat nearly 11 years ago. His Mom Brenda welcomed me into the family and adopted me as a surrogate daughter. We had our up and downs, but we became really close, and she has helped me through some difficult times.

She always believed in me, and encouraged me to do the things I wanted to do. She knew I wanted to start a blog, and now feels like the right time.

So my first post is a dedication to her. I want my blog to be a reflection of me, and she was a massive part of my life.

Brenda's passing has made me realise that life is too short to put off doing the things you want to do.

She loved the sea, and I'll always think of her when I visit the seaside.

So here goes, my blog will be full of all the things I love- Fashion, Nail Varnish, Photography and Art.

I'm hoping for happier times ahead, and I'm excited to finally start my own blog.
